Shots fired during a mass brawl in downtown Budapest – VIDEO
Two groups met up on the 15th of May in the 7th district of Budapest, in front of an apartment house, to handle a conflict. Their choice of tools included fists, baseball bats, and a gas gun that was pulled out of a pocket at one point.
The fight that took place almost two weeks ago originally broke out between two couples, HVG reports. Two men, aged 25 and 23, got into a conflict revolving around their respective significant others. According to the Prosecution Service of Hungary, the two couples’ motives were severe and ongoing jealousy and personal opposition. They had planned to resolve this conflict on the night of May 15th. First, they attempted to do so by yelling and arguing, and when words were of no use anymore, the fight began.
Both men brought others, so, according to data that is available as of yesterday, at least 10 people took part in the fight.
During this fight, the 25-year-old male shot into the air with a gas gun on many occasions. Thankfully, he did not end up causing casualties as the other group attacked him with baseball bats and boxer gloves. BRFK has an ongoing investigation about the people regarding this incident.
Stalking, abuse, and armed breach of the peace are all listed as possible charges against the suspects. As of now, there are 5 main suspects in this case.
Since there is a reasonable chance of the conflict’s renewal, the prosecution ordered criminal surveillance and a restraining order for the ones involved in the main conflict. This way, not only the two men but also their girlfriends are kept away from seeing the other couple. Hopefully, this will be effective in preventing another conflict.
Recently, a much larger group fight, involving almost a hundred people, took place in Kerepes, a town in Budapest’s agglomeration.
